PAD’s Eid gift distribution spreads joy and generosity

DUBAI: Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) organised a heart-warming Eid gift distribution event on March 23, ushering in the spirit of generosity ahead of Eid-Al-Fitr.

Held at the Pakistan Auditorium from 10am to 5pm, the event witnessed the fulfilment of little dreams and wishes as hundreds of deserving children were presented with clothes, toys, food items, hygiene products, shoes, and educational materials as early Eid gifts. A total of 386 children received these thoughtful gifts.

The event was made possible through the unwavering support of the PAD Ladies Forum, whose dedication to organising this seamless activity was commendable.

Mr Zahid Hassan, PAD General Secretary, expressed gratitude, stating, “We are grateful to the Ladies Forum for playing an important role in putting today’s activity together. Our goal remains to ensure that deserving families are also a part of our joy and celebrations – the essence of PAD truly lies in inclusivity and compassion.”

The special gift bags, filled with items generously donated by community members, were tailored to meet each family’s specific requirements. Families and children were also treated to a wholesome Eid shopping experience, receiving tokens to select items of their choice. The event gathered families from across the Emirates, spreading the joy of an early Eid for their children, with gifts carefully curated for all age groups.

Mr. Faisal Sunka, PAD Welfare Director, expressed gratitude for the community’s support, stating, “We conduct this joyous activity each year, and it was heartening to witness people coming together to support deserving members of our community. Eid is an occasion where we should remember, in our celebrations, those individuals with limited means.

“As part of PAD’s annual Ramadan Welfare Campaign, we have so far distributed food packages to 950 deserving families and thus impacted 3,800 lives. Additionally, community iftar meals are being provided to 250+ people daily at the local Pakistani Mosque in Oud Metha, which has so far served 5,500+ individuals. In a recent collaboration with UPS Foundation, with the generous donations from the UPS team and the dedicated efforts of PAD volunteers, we successfully delivered food packages to 100 deserving families and made a difference in the lives of 400 individuals. Additionally, we have also facilitated the repatriation of 275 prisoners in collaboration with local law enforcement authorities.

“We remain grateful to the community for their generous contributions and Zakat towards providing affordable medical care at Pakistan Medical Centre (PMC). In 2023, over 60 percent of patients at PMC received free treatment as part of the organisation’s medical welfare services.”
