The top brass of Pakistan Army has vehemently refuted allegations of interference in the recently held 2024 general election, emphasizing their commitment to providing a secure environment without involvement in the electoral process.
Presiding over the 263rd Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at GHQ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir paid tribute to the sacrifices of Shuhadas, highlighting their contributions to peace and stability in the country.
The conference reiterated Pakistan’s resolve to combat terrorism and militancy, pledging to confront hostile forces seeking to destabilize the nation. Additionally, the COAS directed commanders to sustain efforts against terrorism and consolidate gains in this regard.
Expressing concern over the plight of Kashmiris in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the forum condemned India’s human rights violations and reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support to Kashmiris.
Furthermore, the forum stood in solidarity with the people of Palestine, condemning human rights violations and war crimes in Gaza.
While acknowledging the efforts of civil administration and law enforcement agencies in ensuring a safe electoral process, the military leadership emphasized its sole role in providing security and urged for due legal processes rather than baseless political rhetoric.
The Pakistan army reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling constitutionally mandated responsibilities, supporting the government in addressing security threats, promoting socioeconomic growth, and ensuring the respectful repatriation of illegal foreigners.
In line with the prime minister’s resolve, the COAS vowed to bring perpetrators of attacks on military installations to justice and stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of professionalism and operational readiness.
