BEIJING: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Sunday described the Pakistan–China friendship as crucial for peace, stability and prosperity in the region, as they co-chaired the seventh round of the Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue in Beijing.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, the two leaders reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral relations and held detailed discussions on key regional and global issues. The dialogue covered cooperation in areas including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), trade, multilateral engagement and people-to-people exchanges.
Both sides reiterated that the Pakistan–China relationship is vital not only for the two countries but also for regional stability and development. They also agreed to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China.
Separately, Ishaq Dar and Wang Yi unveiled a logo marking 75 years of Pakistan-China diplomatic ties. The Foreign Office said the launch marks the beginning of a year-long series of celebrations aimed at honouring the historic partnership, reflecting on decades of friendship and exploring new avenues of future cooperation.
Earlier, the deputy prime minister held a series of meetings with senior Chinese officials focused on strengthening bilateral ties. He met Chinese Executive Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further deepening the Pakistan–China strategic cooperative partnership.
Dar also held talks with the Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China, Liu Haixing. The two sides expressed satisfaction over the steady progress of bilateral relations and reviewed party-to-party exchanges, regional developments and ongoing projects under CPEC.
