ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the killing of three Chinese nationals in a terrorist attack in southern Tajikistan near the Afghan border and expressed condolences to the governments and peoples of both China and Tajikistan.
In a statement, the Foreign Office described the incident as a “heinous terrorist attack” and said Pakistan stands in solidarity with China and Tajikistan during this difficult time.
According to Tajik authorities, the attack targeted employees of a Chinese company and involved the use of armed drones and firearms, with the assault reportedly launched from Afghan territory.
The Foreign Office said the incident highlighted the “grave and continuing threat” emanating from Afghanistan and warned that Afghan soil must not be allowed to be used for terrorism against neighbouring countries.
Islamabad stressed that the continued presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan, under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban, remains a serious concern for regional and international security.
It called for “concrete and verifiable action” against militant groups, their facilitators, and financiers operating from Afghan territory.
