Pakistan extends greetings to UAE on 51st National Day

Islamabad: A Message by the Foreign Minister of Pakistan conveyed to the Authorities of the Emirates on the Occasion of 51st National Day of the UAE.

In the message the Minister said, On behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, and on my behalf, I wish to extend my warm felicitations to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates on the auspicious occasion of the 51st National Day of the UAE.

In a short span of time, the UAE has emerged as a bastion of progress, socio-economic development, and path breaking innovations not only in the region, but also on the world level. It has made spectacular strides to emerge as a world-class hub for trade, transit, and transport, finance, and tourism.

This economic miracle has been made possible by the visionary leadership of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and His Highness Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Pakistan was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with the UAE at its independence. The fraternal ties between the two peoples are marked by deep-rooted social and cultural linkages that bind our two countries together.

The sapling of this friendship was sown by none other than the founder of the UAE, and its first President, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. Sheikh Zayed had special love and affection for the people of Pakistan, which was reciprocated in full measure. To this day, this great leader is deeply revered across the length and breadth of Pakistan. Many leading institutions in Pakistan are named after him as a mark of that special bond with the late leader.

Today UAE-Pakistan relations are broad-based and multifaceted. These range from economic and commercial relations to close cooperation in areas of security and defence. There has been a regular exchange of leadership visits from both countries. A law-abiding and dynamic Pakistani diaspora of around 1.7 million continues to play an important role in the development and progress of the UAE.

On this joyous occasion of the 51st National Day of the UAE, we join our Emirati brothers and sisters in celebrating the great achievements of the UAE. We pray for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of the UAE, and for long life and happiness of its leaders.
