Festival to mark Pakistan Day kicks off at PAD

Dubai: The Pakistan Festival kicked off in the premises of Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD).

The festival is being held as part of the celebrations of Pakistan Day (March 23), the date when the historical resolution was passed for the creation of our homeland in 1940.

The grand, colourful ceremony was inaugurated by Consul General of Pakistan to Dubai Hassan Afzal Khan along with President of Pakistan Association Dubai (PAD) Dr Faisal Ikram.

The musical band of Dubai Police played the Pakistani national anthem at the PAD auditorium illuminated with green and white lights. The melodious tunes of Dubai Police’s musical band won the hearts of all Pakistanis present, who expressed their joy while dancing on national songs.

The participants also sang the ever so popular “Dil Dil Pakistan” while waving the national flags during the ceremony.

 

Consul General of Pakistan Hassan Afzal Khan addressed the jubilant crowd and congratulated them for Pakistan Day. He thanked the expats for sending billions of dollars remittances to strengthen the economy of their homeland.

President Pakistan Association Dubai Dr Faisal Ikram said that the country needed unity, faith and discipline to progress and develop.

On the joyous occasion, the comedian duo of Azmi and Barkat, who were invited from Pakistan, entertained the people and satirised the social and political environment of Pakistan, with the hall erupting with applause and laughter.
