DUBAI: Pakistan’s Tech Destination Pavilion was officially inaugurated today at GITEX Global 2025, reaffirming the country’s growing role as a global technology hub.
The ceremony was led by Federal Minister for IT & Telecom, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, accompanied by Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Commerce; Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi, Pakistan’s Envoy to the UAE; Mr. Rafique Ahmed Buriro, Additional Secretary Ministry of IT & Telecom & CEO Ignite; H.E. Hussain Muhammad, Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai; Brigadier Syed Nadir Hussain Shah from the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC); Mr. Abu Bakar, CEO Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB); Mr. Faisal Ratyal, CEO National Information Technology Board (NITB); Mr. Syed Sajjad, Chairman P@SHA; and Mr. Ali Zeb Khan, Trade & Investment Counsellor. The event drew a strong presence of industry leaders, international investors, and global media.

The Pakistan Pavilion serves as a central hub for B2B meetings, investment networking, partnership announcements, and start-up showcases, offering live demonstrations, innovative tech solutions, and matchmaking sessions aimed at boosting Pakistan’s global technology trade footprint.
Speaking at the launch, Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja highlighted Pakistan’s expanding IT exports and youthful talent pool:

As part of the initiative, the Ministry of IT & Telecom has facilitated the participation of 10 promising Pakistani start-ups, providing them an opportunity to present their entrepreneurial talent on a global stage, attract international investment, and forge new business opportunities.
Following Pakistan’s recognition as “Tech Destination of the Year” at GITEX Global 2024, this year’s delegation marks a stronger presence with 100 leading tech companies, including 26 firms under PSEB/TDAP, alongside more than 1,000 C-level delegates.
The initiative reflects the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to nurturing innovation, supporting the start-up ecosystem, and strengthening Pakistan’s role as a competitive global technology destination.
