Pakistan re-elected to Executive Council of OPCW

Islamabad: Pakistan has been re-elected to the Executive Council of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) for a two-year term (2024-26).

The decision was made during the 28th session of the Conference of States Parties (COP-28) to the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC), which concluded on Friday.

Chairing the session was Pakistan’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Suljuk Mustansar Tarar.

This marks a historic moment for Pakistan, as it has also become the Chair of the Conference and other CWC-related organs for the first time.
