UNICEF’s Regional Director for South Asia, George Laria Edji, has said that Pakistan will eradicate polio by the end of 2023.
According to the report of official news agency “APP”, he said that the polio program in Pakistan is back on track and it is hoped that after effective measures to prevent its spread, it will be eradicated from the country by the end of 2023. The disease will be eradicated.
Stating the current data of polio, he said that the virus is now under control in the country, we are using all available resources and services to defeat polio in Pakistan.
The UNICEF Regional Director praised the efforts of more than 350,000 health workers and said that the program is on track to eliminate all poliovirus transmission by 2023.
