Youth Association of Pakistan organized a conference on “Kashmir Dispute: Pakistan’s Way Forward” at Preston University. The main purpose of organizing the conference was to explore the determinants of future policy options of Pakistan in response to the 5th August India’s unilateral abrogation of Article 370 and 35A in relation with the Indian Occupied Kashmir and the situation which emerged due to illegal curfew since past 55 days. The Chief Guest for the conference was Mr. Ali Muhammad Khan, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs who informed the youth about Pakistan’s key policy measures available and the ones taken regarding Indian Occupied Kashmir so far. Minister of State also appreciated the initiatives taken by Youth Association of Pakistan so far. He especially congratulated the Founding Chairman of Youth Association of Pakistan Abdul Qadir and the President Youth Association of Pakistan Ahsan Nawaz Khan for conducting such an important conference on the issue of Kashmir Dispute.
The Guest of honor for the conference was the Acting President of Azad Jammu & Kashmir and Speaker Legislative Assembly Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Mr. Shah Ghulam Qadir. He paid tribute to the Government of Pakistan for its efforts on the issue of Indian Occupied Kashmir and a strong diplomatic campaign at the international level.
Former High Commissioner of Pakistan to India, Ambassador (Retd) Abdul Basit informed the conference’s participants about India’s nefarious ambitions on the basis of his extensive diplomatic experience and highlighted Pakistan’s recent diplomatic policy actions in this regard. Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization, Ms. Mashal Hussein Malik informed the participants about the ongoing occupation of India for fifty-five days and urged them to propagate the Indian oppression in the Indian Occupied Kashmir through social media.
Dr. Abdul Basit, Chancellor of Preston University, while addressing the youth of Pakistan to highlight and emphasize the rights of Kashmiris and their right to self-determination.
Addressing to the conference, Founder Chairman of the Youth Association of Pakistan, Mr. Abdul Qadir said that Kashmir issue must be resolved on human rights grounds for ensuring the lasting peace in the region.
Addressing the international community and the United Nations, Mr. Ahsan Nawaz Khan, President Youth Association of Pakistan, said that the world community must realize its responsibility on Kashmir issue and it is the high time that UN Security Council must ensure that UNSC resolutions are implemented in the Indian Occupied Kashmir to materialize the Kashmiris right to Self Determination.
Advocate Khawaja Sajjad Ahmed, while expressing the sentiments of Kashmiris, demanded that the Government of Pakistan should take material steps regarding freedom of Indian Occupied Kashmir.
Member of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, Ms. Munira Javed congratulated the team for holding such a successful conference on Kashmir issue.
