Pakistani organisations in Dubai receive Gold Category recognition under ETHRAA programme

Pakistan Association Dubai and PECB honoured for community, educational and cultural services

DUBAI: Two Pakistani community organisations in Dubai — the Pakistan Association Dubai and the Pakistan Educational and Cultural Board — have received Gold Category recognition under the Dubai government’s ETHRAA Empowerment Programme for Non-Profit Organisations.

The awards were presented by Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of Dubai’s Community Development Authority, at a ceremony held at Emirates Towers.

The ETHRAA programme evaluates the performance of non-profit organisations operating in Dubai on the basis of governance standards, leadership, quality of services and overall community impact. More than 100 community organisations were assessed, with only a limited number qualifying for Gold Category status.

The Pakistan Association Dubai, the largest Pakistani community centre outside Pakistan, was recognised for its contributions in community welfare, healthcare support, cultural engagement and charitable activities for the Pakistani diaspora. The Pakistan Educational and Cultural Board was honoured for its role in providing educational and cultural services, including support for Pakistani schools and curricula in Dubai.

In a statement, the Pakistan Association Dubai said the recognition reflected the collective efforts of its members and volunteers.

The awards highlight Dubai’s focus on strengthening community engagement and underline the role of Pakistani organisations in contributing to the Emirate’s multicultural social fabric.
