Rawalpindi: No compromise on Pakistan’s Sovereignty, The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Syed Asim Munir presided over the 262nd Corps Commanders’ Conference (CCC) at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday. The military’s top brass emphasized that no one would be allowed to undermine peace and stability through acts of violence in the political arena.
A press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) highlighted the forum’s rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices made by Shuhadas, including officers and men of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and citizens who have laid down their lives for the cause of ensuring peace in the country.
The conference resolved to confront terrorists, their facilitators, and abettors working on behalf of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan with the full might of the state. COAS Gen Syed Asim Munir asserted that Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are sacrosanct, emphasizing that there would be no compromise over the country’s honor and the aspirations of its people.
The forum also delved into international affairs, discussing India’s alleged campaign of extra-territorial and extra-judicial killings. The forum condemned India’s blatant violation of international laws, calling for the exposure of its real face to the world. Serious concerns were raised over India’s use of state apparatus for a killing spree, and the international community was urged to take notice.
Reiterating unequivocal support for Palestine and the people of Gaza, the forum acknowledged the negative fallout of the conflict and emphasized the need for a permanent ceasefire and an enduring solution to the Palestinian question. The forum also expressed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOK) for their right to self-determination.

Turning to domestic affairs, the forum discussed the deployment of the Pakistan Army to assist the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the peaceful conduct of the general election in 2024. The military pledged to perform assigned duties as per the constitutional mandate and ECP guidelines, emphasizing that no one would be allowed to indulge in violence in the name of political activity.
Acknowledging and appreciating steps taken against a spectrum of illegal activities and criminal mafias, including smuggling, hoarding, money laundering, power theft, and illegal aliens, the forum emphasized the need for continued actions and their positive impact on the economy and the well-being of the people.
Lastly, the COAS, in a briefing on the operational preparedness of the formations, urged formation commanders to maintain their focus on training, administration, and the morale of the soldiers, ensuring the country’s armed forces remain ready for any challenges that may arise.
