Parvez Elahi’s family Granted Protective Bail in Money Laundering Case

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court has granted a seven-day protective bail to the wife, son, and daughter-in-law of former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi. This protective bail has been extended in connection with an alleged money laundering case registered against them by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

The court, presided over by IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq, made this decision after a plea was presented by their legal representative, Sardar Abdul Razzaq. As part of the bail conditions, the petitioners have been directed to submit bail bonds of Rs20,000 each.

The protective bail has been granted to Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s wife, Qaisera Elahi, his son, Rasikh Elahi, and his daughter-in-law, Zahra Elahi, in exchange for the aforementioned bail bonds.

The Islamabad High Court has further instructed the petitioners to approach the relevant court in Lahore within seven days to address the ongoing legal proceedings related to the case.

This protective bail comes in response to a case filed against the three individuals on July 19 in Lahore, where they are facing allegations of money laundering. The FIA alleges that the accused were involved in the illicit transfer of Rs30 million.

The petitioners have argued that they are victims of political vendetta and have sought protective bail to enable them to pursue legal recourse in the relevant trial court. This development has sparked considerable interest and discussion, and further legal proceedings are expected in the coming days.
