PDMA warns of heatwave in April

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather forecast report for April, predicting above-average temperatures and the possibility of a heatwave in parts of Pakistan.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, Lahore may experience heatwave this April compared to the thirty-year average. Additionally, there is a warning of a potential heatwave, particularly in the plains of Punjab, which could affect major cities. The report also highlights the likelihood of strong winds, dust storms, heavy rain, and hail in certain areas.

Northern Punjab faces the risk of flooding due to heavy rainfall, while hilly regions may encounter increased landslides. In response to these forecasts, PDMA has alerted Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners across Punjab, urging all relevant organizations to prepare for potential climate-related challenges.

As temperatures rise and extreme weather events become more frequent, preparedness and proactive measures are essential to mitigate the impact on communities across Pakistan.
