Peaceful Youm-e-Ashur processions in Pakistan

Today, across Pakistan, solemn processions marked Youm-e-Ashur, commemorating the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions in Karbala. Participants, including men, women, and children, gathered in cities like Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Quetta, and Hyderabad to pay homage amidst heightened security measures.

Security Measures and Public Participation

To ensure safety, mobile and internet services were temporarily suspended in several cities, with significant deployments of Pakistan Army troops, Civil Armed Forces, and thousands of police personnel. The gatherings proceeded peacefully, with mourners demonstrating their reverence through prayers and acts of charity, including blood donations in memory of the martyrs of Karbala.

Government Acknowledgments

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif lauded the meticulous security arrangements and the dedication of security forces and volunteers, ensuring a peaceful environment throughout the country.
