PEMRA banned broadcasting of Khan’s speeches & media talks

Islamabad: The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has banned the broadcast of Imran Khan’s speech and news conference.

Taking notice of Imran Khan’s recent harsh statements, Pemra has issued a notification banning the showing of PTI Chairman’s speech and news conference.

The notification has made it clear that Imran Khan’s recorded speech and news conference cannot be aired, all TV channels should follow this ban and obey the orders. The PEMRA notification states that Imran Khan made baseless accusations against national institutions during the Long March, Imran Khan’s speeches were aired in talk shows without editorial supervision, controversial and accusing speeches against institutions in public. There is a fear of spreading hatred against.

According to PEMRA, the ban on Imran Khan’s statements and speech has been imposed under the PEMRA Ordinance 2002.
