pending cases in Supreme Court exceeds 54 thousands

Islamabad: The number of cases pending in the Supreme Court has exceeded 54,500.

The Supreme Court released the report of pending cases till June 15, the number of pending cases has increased tremendously and the number has crossed 54 thousand.

The number of pending civil petitions in the Supreme Court has reached 29 thousand 557, the number of pending civil appeals has reached 9 thousand 758, while the number of pending criminal petitions in the Supreme Court is 8 thousand 915.

According to the report, the number of pending review applications is 1,438, pending criminal appeals are 1 thousand 62 and pending constitutional applications are 130.

25 suo motu notices are pending in the Supreme Court while one reference is also pending according to the report.
