In an electrifying encounter, Peshawar Zalmi emerged victorious over Multan Sultans in the ninth edition of the Pakistan Premier League (PSL) by a narrow margin of four runs on Tuesday.
Opting to bat first, Peshawar Zalmi posted an imposing total of 204 runs for Multan Sultans to chase. Captain Babar Azam led from the front with a scintillating knock of 64 runs off just 40 deliveries, earning him the coveted Player of the Match award.
Saim Ayub’s explosive 46 off 22 balls and Haseebullah Khan’s quickfire 31 off 20 balls further bolstered Zalmi’s innings. However, Multan Sultans fought back valiantly with their bowling attack, with Usama Mir claiming three crucial wickets.

In response, Multan Sultans showcased resilience with the bat, led by Iftikhar Ahmed’s blistering 60 off 27 balls. Mohammad Rizwan and Chris Jordan also contributed significantly, but Peshawar Zalmi’s bowlers, led by Aamir Jamal, managed to keep the pressure on.
Despite a spirited effort, Multan Sultans fell agonizingly short of the target, finishing with 200 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Peshawar Zalmi secured a thrilling victory, clinching the match by a razor-thin margin of four runs.
