Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced to give loans worth 1800 billion rupees to farmers under the ‘Kisan Package’.
During the news conference on the farmer package, he said that this loan is 400 billion rupees more than last year, that a special package has been prepared for the restoration of agriculture and employment of farmers in the flood-affected areas.
The Prime Minister said that the price of DEP per bag has been reduced by Rs 2500 while 12 lakh bags of wheat seeds will be distributed in the flood affected areas.
Shahbaz Sharif said that five billion rupees subsidized loans will be given to landless farmers in flood-affected areas, while 10 billion rupees have been earmarked for small and medium enterprises in the agricultural sector.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that the loans of small farmers in the affected areas are being waived, while the import of old tractors from outside for five years is being allowed.
Shahbaz Sharif said that this decision had to be taken due to not reducing the prices of tractors in the country. Besides, he said that five lakh tons of urea will be imported and two lakh tons of urea has been imported.
He said that for the young unemployed children who have loans of 50 billion rupees in the agricultural sector and for this the government of Pakistan will give a subsidy of interest rate of 6 billion 40 crore rupees, they will be provided cheap loans.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister said that 1.2 million sacks of certified wheat seeds will be distributed in the flood-affected areas and the federal government will pay 25% of this while the province will be obliged to pay 25%. have been done.
