PM Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar Lands in Dubai to attend COP-28

Dubai: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar touched down in Dubai on Wednesday, gearing up to lead Pakistan’s delegation at the 28th United Nations Conference of Parties (COP-28). Welcomed by UAE’s Minister for Justice Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, along with Pakistan’s Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi and diplomatic staff, the PM is set to play a key role in discussions surrounding climate action.

The summit, officially commencing on November 30 and extending until December 12, will be a pivotal moment for global leaders, experts, and activists gathering to address the pressing issue of climate change. Alongside participating in COP-28, Caretaker PM Kakar is scheduled to attend the World Climate Action Summit on December 01-02.

The Pakistani delegation comprises notable figures including Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani, Caretaker Finance Minister Dr. Shamshad Akhtar, Caretaker Minister for Climate Change Ahmed Irfan Aslam, and Caretaker Energy Minister Muhammad Ali. COP-28 aims to bring together over 70,000 participants, including heads of state, climate envoys, business leaders, and activists, to formulate strategies and goals in the ongoing fight against the climate crisis.
