PM Kakar expresses solidarity with Jammu and Kashmir

MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq and AJK Legislative Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Lateef Akbar met Caretaker Prime Minster Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar at the Speaker’s Chamber on Thursday.

The AJK prime minister welcomed PM Kakar on his arrival in Kashmir and thanked him for expressing solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir after the decision of the Indian Supreme Court.

PM Kakar said hearts of all Pakistanis beat with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters, the official news agency reported.

“The struggle of the Kashmiris for their freedom will not be shaken after the Indian illegal actions, but will further strengthen it,” the prime minister remarked.

Earlier, Prime Minister Kakar visited Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the freedom movement of Jammu and Kashmir.

On the occasion, the prime minister laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to pay homage to the valiant soldiers of the armed forces.

PM Kakar was also presented a guard of honour by a smart contingent of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The prime minister’s visit is an expression of solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in the context of the confirmation by the Indian Supreme Court of India’s unilateral and illegal move regarding the status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

On Wednesday, AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar said that the Indian Supreme Court’s judgement validating the abrogation of the Article 370 of Indian Constitution was lopsided and politically motivated which had dented its credibility as an independent institution.

Talking to the media at the Jammu Kashmir House, the AJK PM said that the people of Kashmir had already rejected the Modi government’s unilateral move of August 5, 2019.

Referring to the contentious Babri Masjid verdict and the sham trial that led to the death penalty of Shaheed Afzal, he said that the Kashmiris had never expected justice from the Indian judiciary.

“Putting a stamp of approval to the actions which the Modi government had taken on Kashmir since August 5, 2019, has fully exposed the Indian judiciary,” the PM said.
