ISLAMABAD: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Interim Chief Minister Justice (retd) Arshad Hussain called on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Tuesday and discussed with him the upcoming general election and administrative matters of the province.
The prime minister emphasised the constitutional role of the interim chief minister in providing assistance to the Election Commission of Pakistan to hold polls in a free and fair manner across the province, the official news agency reported.
He felicitated the chief minister on the assumption of his office and expressed best wishes for his assignment.
The meeting also discussed the law and order situation in the province and the control of smuggling.
Meanwhile, Caretaker Minister for National Heritage and Culture Syed Jamal Shah also called on the caretaker prime minister and discussed with him matters related to his ministry.
Various steps to promote art and culture in the country also came under discussion.
