PM Kakar Stresses Trickle-Down Effect for National Initiatives in Balochistan

Quetta: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar underscored the importance of ensuring that the initiatives undertaken by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) at the federal level translate into tangible benefits for every province. This message was conveyed during a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee, which saw the presence of Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir and Caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan Ali Mardan Khan Domki.

Comprehensive Agenda Discussed

The Apex Committee meeting served as a platform to discuss a wide range of critical topics, including the revised National Action Plan, law enforcement operations, anti-smuggling, anti-narcotics operations in Balochistan, and the security of foreign nationals engaged in projects, whether related to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) or not. Additionally, the meeting delved into the repatriation of illegal foreigners, foreign currency regularization measures, and the progress on SIFC initiatives within Balochistan.

Support and Development for Balochistan

Prime Minister Kakar expressed his confidence in the progress achieved by the Balochistan government and assured the full support of the federal government. During the session, he emphasized the paramount significance of socio-economic development in Balochistan as a prerequisite for peace and prosperity in the province.

Collaborative Efforts for Enforcement Actions

COAS General Syed Asim Munir emphasized the Pakistan Army’s commitment to supporting law enforcement agencies and government departments in taking enforcement actions against various illegal activities. This unified effort aims to curb resource pilferage and economic losses incurred by the country due to these activities.

Unlocking Balochistan’s Potential

The prime minister highlighted the wealth of natural resources, mines, and minerals in Balochistan and stressed that focusing on the development of this sector would generate economic activity and job opportunities for the local population. In addition to mining, investments in agriculture and information technology, as well as human resource development, were also encouraged to bolster the region’s growth.

Synergy and Unity for Progress

The meeting participants emphasized the need for synergy among all relevant departments to maximize the impact of these initiatives. They reaffirmed the unity of state institutions, government departments, and the people in their collective commitment to advancing the progress and prosperity of Balochistan.

Earlier, the Prime Minister and COAS were warmly received by Balochistan’s Chief Minister and Balochistan Corps Commander upon their arrival.
