PM orders to reduce electricity rates for consumers

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed authorities to reduce electricity rates for consumers and speed up the implementation of future power generation plans.

During a meeting in Islamabad, the prime minister emphasized that only low-cost electricity projects should be prioritized, using local resources like solar and hydropower. He highlighted that hydropower is an affordable and environmentally friendly source of electricity.

Shehbaz Sharif also called for converting existing power generation to solar energy, noting Pakistan’s vast potential for solar power. He stated that solar energy is being widely used worldwide for low-cost electricity production.
