Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday to discuss matters of mutual and bilateral interest, emphasizing their commitment to deepening economic, political, and cultural ties between the two nations.
During the meeting, the leaders addressed a range of topics, including economic collaboration, regional stability, climate change, and the promotion of mutual interests on the global stage. Prime Minister Sharif lauded the UAE’s visionary leadership and its significant role in Pakistan’s development and investment. He highlighted Pakistan’s eagerness to enhance cooperation in renewable energy, technology, trade, infrastructure, and skill development.
President Zayed Al Nahyan expressed a keen interest in collaborating with Pakistan in mining, minerals, and agriculture sectors. He commended Pakistan’s economic stabilization efforts under PM Sharif’s leadership, noting that this progress has opened new avenues for bilateral investment and cooperation.
Both leaders emphasized the importance of people-to-people connections and shared prosperity. PM Sharif extended gratitude to the UAE for its continued support, particularly in humanitarian assistance and development aid. They reaffirmed their dedication to regional peace and progress, pledging to work closely on mutual interests.
The meeting concluded with a joint resolve to foster greater cooperation in priority sectors, aiming for a brighter future for both nations. Key officials, including Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Syed Tariq Fatemi, were present.
Following the meeting, PM Sharif shared on X, “Delighted to meet with my dear brother, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, today in Rahimyar Khan. Reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthen Pak-UAE cooperation and elevate our ties to a mutually beneficial strategic partnership. Matters of mutual interest including investments in Pakistan were discussed with a resolve to move forward together.”
