PML-N finalises candidates for general elections in KP

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has completed the process of issuing tickets to all the candidates in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for the next month’s general elections, the party’s officials said on Saturday.

Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has been issued ticket from Mansehra NA-15 and PML-N provincial president Ameer Muqam has been given ticket from NA-2, NA-11 and PK-5, said the official, the official news agency reported.

He said that tickets have been issued for 13 provincial and five National Assembly seats in Peshawar including tickets issued to Azmat Khan (PK-72), Fazlullah (PK-73), Arbab Afzal (PK-74), Arbab Ghulam Fariq (PK-75), Subia Shahid (PK-76), Zahir Khan (PK-78), Jalal Khan (PK-79) and Hyder Shah (PK-80), Waqas Buland (PK-81), Mohammad Nadeem (PK-82) and Sher Rehman (PK-84), the PML-N leaders said.

According to the official, the PML-N has also issued tickets for the five National Assembly seats in Peshawar including Arbab Khizer Hayat (NA-28), Subia Shahid (NA-29), Rais Khan (NA-30), Subia Shahid (NA-31) and Sher Rehman (NA-32).

Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (Fazl) on Saturday also finalised its national and provincial candidates for Peshawar district with Noor Alam Khan as the candidate for NA-28 and Akhunzada Irfanullah for NA-29.

According to details, Nasir Khan Musazai will be the candidate from NA-30, Maulana Saeedullah from NA-31 and Maulana Hussain Madani from NA-32.

Azan Khan will be the candidate from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly constituency PK-72 in the elections, Maulana Abdul Haseeb from PK-73, Ejaz Khan from PK-74, Shehryar Khan from PK-75, Niaz Muhammad from PK-76 and Haji Safatullah from PK-77.

Zahir Shah will be the candidate from PK-78, Maulana Ata-ul-Haq Darwish from PK-79 and Maulana Amanullah Haqqani from PK-80.

Likewise, Arbab Farooq will be the candidate from PK-81, Siddiqur Rahman Paracha from PK-82, Haji Mohammad Umar from PK-83 and Malik Naushad Khan from PK-84.

The general elections throughout the country are schedule to take place on February 8, 2024.
