Lahore: The PML-N and the People’s Party submitted a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.
According to Leading News, a no-confidence motion has been submitted in the Punjab Assembly against the Punjab Chief Minister, Speaker and Deputy Speaker. 150 members of the assembly have signed the no-confidence motion.
No-confidence motion against Punjab Chief Minister was submitted by members of Punjab Assembly of PML-N and People’s Party.
In the no-confidence motion, it has been said that Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has lost the confidence of the House, so he should take a vote of confidence from the Assembly again.
Now that a no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister has been submitted in the Punjab Assembly, Governor Balighur Rehman will ask Pervez Elahi to take a vote of confidence.
Assemblies cannot be dissolved now, Atta Tarr
Speaking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly after the no-confidence motion was submitted, PML-N leader Atta Tarar said that a no-confidence motion has been submitted in the Punjab Assembly against the Speaker, Deputy Speaker and Chief Minister, now the assemblies are not dissolved. Because the assembly cannot legally be dissolved after the no-confidence motion is submitted, the Chief Minister of Punjab will have to take a vote of confidence on December 21, Wednesday at 4 pm.
The opposition will need the support of 186 members against the Chief Minister of Punjab
On the other hand, Chief Minister Punjab started consultation with legal experts and assembly staff. The opposition needs the support of 186 members for the success of the no-confidence motion against the Chief Minister of Punjab. Similarly, the opposition needs 186 members for the motion of no-confidence against the Speaker and Deputy Speaker.
It should be noted that Imran Khan has announced the dissolution of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Assembly on December 23.
