President announces April 30 as elections date in Punjab

Islamabad: President of the State Dr. Arif Alvi has given approval to hold general elections of Punjab Assembly on April 30.

The President announced the date after considering the dates suggested by the Election Commission. According to the proposal of the Election Commission, the President has approved Sunday as the polling day.

The Election Commission had sent a letter to the President in the light of the Supreme Court’s decision, in which the dates for holding the elections in the Punjab province were suggested from April 30 to May 7, 2023.

The Election Commission has also received a response letter from the President of the State, the Election Commission has started working on the election schedule after the announcement of the polling day.
