ISLAMABAD: President Dr Arif Alvi on Monday reiterated the resolve to make Pakistan a modern Islamic welfare state as per the vision of Quaid-i-Azam by fully focusing on education and poverty alleviation.
The president, in his message to the nation on the death anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, said on the day, the whole Pakistani nation paid tribute to the great leader of the Indo-Pak subcontinent.
He said under Quaid’s farsighted and prudent leadership, the Muslims of the subcontinent had achieved Pakistan within a short span of time, the official news agency reported.
The president said that Quaid-i-Azam had advocated for peace, equality, rule of law, economic and social justice as well as the minorities’ rights.
He said Quaid-i-Azam had contested the case of the Muslims and led to the creation of a separate homeland.
Dr Alvi said the observance of Quaid’s golden principles was inevitable for Pakistan’s progress and prosperity.
He emphasised the efforts to uplift the vulnerable segments including the women and youth.
