President Urges Restraint and Dialogue to Resolve AJK Issues

In a recent meeting upon AJK Issues, with a delegation from the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the importance of exercising restraint and resolving issues through dialogue and mutual consultation. The President stressed that all stakeholders, including political parties, state institutions, and the people of AJK, must act responsibly to prevent hostile elements from exploiting the situation for their benefit.

During the meeting held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, President Zardari was briefed by members of the AJK Legislative Assembly belonging to the Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) about recent developments in AJK. He reiterated the significance of addressing the demands of the people of AJK in accordance with the law and pledged to discuss their grievances with the Prime Minister of Pakistan to find constructive solutions.

President Zardari highlighted the need for prioritizing the socio-economic uplift of AJK, with a special focus on areas such as health, education, tourism, and infrastructure development. He emphasized the importance of bridging the gap between far-flung areas and developed regions of the country.

Expressing regret over the AJK Issues and current situation, President Zardari offered condolences for the unfortunate death of a police officer and prayed for the swift recovery of all those injured in recent clashes.

The President’s call for restraint and dialogue underscores the importance of peaceful resolution and stability in AJK, as the region navigates through challenging times.
