SHAUKATABAD: A protest rally was organised in Shaukatabad in connection with the Mujahidabad to Thala road upgradation movement ‘Haq Do Bheek Nahi’.
A large number of elders, youth and women from Shaukatabad and adjacent areas participated in the protest rally. Slogans were raised in favour of reconstruction of the Mujahidabad to Thala road.
At the end of the rally, a protest meeting was held, in which the speakers expressed their determination to continue the organised struggle until the success of this movement. They also vowed to fight the high tactics of the ruling class at all levels.
The speakers were of the view that the road should have been built according to the international standard, but the corrupt and incompetent rulers robbed the people of this right and stained their hands with corruption. Thus, a world standard road became a mere road.
They emphasised that the government should take the demand of the movement seriously and not force the people to go towards violent protests. The demand has reached the prime minister of Azad Kashmir and the prime minister of Pakistan, but no serious action has been seen so far. The Awami Action Committee will continue its series of peaceful protests, they said.
Member District Council Poonch Sajjad Razzak, Ward Councilors and members Core Committee Wajid Hanif, Nasir Nasim and Mansoor Nasir Awami, Action Core Committee members Naseem Shahid, Jameel Gul, Khalil Babar, Nasrullah Khan, Adnan Altaf, Ikram Jahangir and Farooq Khan spoke on the occasion.
Hafiz Nazim started the program by reciting verses from the Holy Quran, while the nizamat duties were performed by Shamim Yusuf, Asad Anwar and Kashan Khurshid. Women were represented by Humanwar.
