PSL’s New 10-Year Franchise Deal Nears Completion

ISLAMABAD: Preparations for a new 10-year agreement between the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have entered their final phase.

ISLAMABAD: Representatives of chartered firm EY MENA met with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to present the PSL’s latest valuation report. The meeting was also attended by PSL CEO Salman Naseer and COO Sameer Syed.

During the briefing, Mohsin Iqbal and his team from EY MENA shared the valuation findings, while the PCB chairman raised detailed questions regarding various aspects of the report.

Naqvi directed the chartered firm to hold meetings with all PSL franchises to ensure transparency and consensus before finalizing the new agreement. He instructed that the franchise contracts be completed as early as possible.

According to sources, the new franchise contracts will be based on the valuation report prepared by EY MENA, which is also tasked with determining the revised market value of the PSL franchises.

Currently, the contracts of all six existing PSL franchises are set to expire in December 2025, while the league is expected to expand to eight teams under the upcoming deal.

The new 10-year contracts will reportedly be signed only with eligible and compliant franchises, marking a major step toward PSL’s next phase of growth and commercial restructuring.
