Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Islamabad President Aamir Mughal has been arrested, the party announced in a social media post on Thursday.
The PTI claimed Aamir Mughal was detained outside the deputy commissioner’s office in the federal capital. PTI lawyer Asim Baig also confirmed the arrest.
According to the PTI, Mughal had visited the Islamabad DC office to seek a no objection certificate for the party’s rally scheduled for July 6.

This is not Mughal’s first arrest; he was previously detained on May 23 during a raid by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and police on PTI’s Central Secretariat. The CDA had demolished part of the PTI office, citing “violation of building rules,” which drew strong condemnation from Imran Khan’s party.
During the demolition, PTI activists resisted the government’s actions, leading to the arrest of several party workers by the capital city police. After completing the operation, CDA officials sealed the PTI’s central office and posted the order on the building.
