Islamabad: On the call of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, protests are again going on in different cities.
According to Leading News, PTI called for protest in different cities today like yesterday and had decided that there will be severe protest in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. .
At Faizabad, PTI workers protested and blocked the traffic coming from Faizabad to Pindi. Long queues of vehicles were formed due to traffic jams. The protesters also raised slogans against the government. Meanwhile, former MNA Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, former provincial minister Raja Rashid Hafeez also reached the protest.
The situation near Faizabad became tense. From Faizabad Interchange, Islamabad Police carried out severe shelling. All business centers near Faizabad were closed. The citizens are facing serious problems due to the closure of the main highway.
PTI workers attempted to vandalize a petrol pump in Faizabad. The security guards of the petrol pump stopped the PTI workers from vandalizing. Meanwhile, the area of Faizabad was plunged into darkness due to power outage.
On Rawat GT Road in Rawalpindi, PTI workers blocked the road by burning tires and stopping the flow of traffic. The activists advanced towards Islamabad, upon which the Islamabad police started shelling the protesters. PTI workers started marching back towards Murree Road.
PTI also protested in Attock, the protesters blocked the Bahtar Interchange and stopped the vehicles from passing.
Lahore
A protest was held at Lahore Liberty Chowk where Shafqat Mehmood, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Musrat Jamshed, Moradras also reached. Protesters blocked Governor House Chowk.
CTO Lahore has issued a statement regarding the roads closed due to protests, according to which protests and sit-ins are going on at 8 places in the city. Lahore Ring Road is closed for traffic, protesters have also closed Abdullah Gul Interchange for traffic.
According to CTO Lahore, protests are also going on at Shahdara Chowk, Shanghai Bridge, Babu Sabu, Faisal Chowk, officials and officers are on alert to provide alternative routes to the citizens.
Peshawar
Protesting in Peshawar, PTI workers blocked the motorway interchange from Peshawar to Islamabad, causing long queues of vehicles.
The motorway police and administration failed to open the road due to which thousands of people, including women and children, in hundreds of vehicles were in dire straits.
The route from Islamabad to Peshawar was not blocked due to which the vehicles coming from Islamabad continued to flow easily.
The passengers appealed to the protestors to open the way. Provincial Finance Minister Taimur Jhagra and Provincial Minister Kamran Khan Bangash directed the protestors to end the protest and open the road, upon which the protestors opened the motorway for traffic.
