Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to challenge the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to postpone the elections in Punjab in the Supreme Court.
Addressing the media along with PTI’s Asad Umar and Senator Ijaz Chaudhry, Fawad Chaudhry said that the entire country wants action against the ECP officials under Article 6 of the Constitution, which is the first time that any incumbent The civilian government has taken steps to subvert the constitution.
He said that it is important for the Supreme Court and the people to protect the constitution. The entire nation stands behind the Supreme Court, “I appeal to the judges that it is their job to save the Constitution.”
He further said that the government had not filed a review against the decision of the Supreme Court. Such measures have been taken for the first time in a civilian government, and Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar does not know what happened after coming to the government.
He said that he is going to the Supreme Court against the move to break the constitution. 96 times the association rejected the decision of the Election Commission, Tehreek-e-Insaf will stand behind every movement.
