PTI Worker Aneela Jutt arrested for assaulting PML-N’s Tahir Anjum

Lahore Police have arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) worker Aneela Jutt, also known as ‘Neeli Pari,’ following an assault on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Cultural Wing President Tahir Anjum. The arrest occurred after a raid in the Lohari area.

According to Deputy Inspector General of Police Operations Faisal Kamran, the arrest was made in connection with an altercation that took place on Wednesday outside the Punjab Assembly. Anjum, a stage actor, was attacked by Jutt while he was near a PTI hunger strike camp set up to support PTI leaders.

Jutt reportedly attacked Anjum, ripping a sleeve from his shirt and aggressively pulling him out of his vehicle while hurling curses and physical blows. The confrontation was captured on video, which quickly circulated on social media. In the footage, Jutt is seen fiercely assaulting Anjum, who struggled to remain in his car as his shirt was torn to shreds.

Jutt accused Anjum of posting derogatory videos intended to malign PTI founder Imran Khan, labeling him a “terrorist.” The PTI worker’s actions prompted a significant reaction, with some bystanders and police intervening but failing to immediately restrain Jutt.

The incident unfolded as PTI was staging its second hunger strike protest outside the Punjab Assembly, demanding the release of arrested PTI leaders. Anjum later spoke to journalists, expressing his outrage and condemning the attack, which he claimed was carried out with little regard for his personal safety and the presence of his children in the vehicle.

He denied any wrongdoing or provocation that would justify the attack, describing the PTI workers’ behavior as “hooliganism” and likening it to actions of a “terrorist outfit.”
