Punjab Government imposed banned on usury business

Lahore: The Punjab government has imposed a ban on private interest business and transactions.

Acting Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said on the social networking site Twitter that many houses will be safe from demolition after the implementation of the law prohibiting private interest in Punjab.

He wrote that ‘Usury is a curse and in the religion of Islam it has been declared as a war against Allah, the prohibition of private usury is a service to the religion’.

Parvaiz Elahi said that ‘We have become red-faced by obeying the orders of Allah and the Prophet (SAWW) of Allah by banning usury’. He further wrote that those who do usury business will be raised with a black face on the Day of Resurrection. We are doing religious work with good intentions and will continue to do so in the future.
