Punjab police officials banned from participating in long march

Lahore: IG Punjab imposed a strict ban on police officers and officials from participating in the long march.

According to Leading News, IG Punjab has issued a letter across the province, including CCPO Lahore, in which strict orders have been issued on the participation of police officers and workers during the PTI long march.

It has been said in the post that all the officers and personnel of the Punjab Police must perform their duties and no subordinate officer or personnel should be a part of the political rally processions, strict action will be taken against those who violate the orders.

It has been said in the post that the subordinate officers and officials should maintain the sanctity of the uniform during the duty of political meetings and processions. No subordinate officer and official shall shout slogans in the jalsa processions and shall not take any part along with the participants, police vehicles shall not be used for the participants of political jalsa processions or any jalsa procession.

In the letter issued by IG Punjab, it is said that police vehicles and equipment will be used only for the security of the participants of the rally and processions.

The post strictly states that taking pictures in uniform and posting them on social media sites for public opinion is prohibited and departmental action will be initiated against those doing so.

The order of IG Punjab states that the dignity of the police uniform and the sacred principles of the force are reiterated to perform official duties.
