Reflecting on a Year of Community Spirit and Sustainability with Keolis MHI’s CSR Journey in 2024

As a CSR advocate, I am filled with immense pride as I look back on the remarkable year Keolis MHI has had in terms of community service and sustainability. Our commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is deeply rooted in the broader vision and leadership of the UAE. This country has rapidly developed into a hub for business, tourism, and innovation while emphasizing sustainability and social responsibility.

Aligning with the UAE’s Vision for CSR, the UAE’s approach to CSR is guided by principles that emphasize the importance of giving back to the community and protecting the environment. This aligns with the country’s overall vision to establish itself as a global leader in corporate social responsibility, reflecting the UAE’s priorities in sustainable development and social welfare.

The UAE’s leadership, under the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the UAE, and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, has extended the “Year of Sustainability” into 2024, focusing on translating sustainability lessons into action. The “Plan to Action” tagline drives efforts in four key areas: responsible consumption, green transportation, water and energy reduction, and planting wisely. This initiative is a testament to the UAE’s commitment to sustainable practices and collective action, aiming to build a more sustainable future for generations to come.

At Keolis MHI, community engagement and sustainability are core to our identity. We have actively participated in various community-driven activities aligning with the UAE’s CSR vision. A key example is our celebration of UAE National Environment Day, where we hosted a community harvest event at our garden, promoting environmental awareness and supporting the UAE’s ban on plastic bags. This initiative is part of the extended “Year of Sustainability” and reflects our commitment to the UAE’s broader vision of sustainable development and social responsibility.

By engaging in such activities, we support the nation’s priorities in responsible consumption, green transportation, and sustainable practices, reinforcing our role as a responsible corporate citizen in the UAE. This event not only fostered environmental awareness but also supported the UAE’s ban on plastic bags, promoting sustainable practices.

We have also partnered with the Dubai Health Authority to organize blood donation drives, demonstrating our commitment to the health and well-being of the community. Additionally, our visit to the Etihad Museum allowed our staff to explore the UAE’s rich heritage, reinforcing our national pride and connection to the country’s history.

Supporting People of Determination and Community Well-being is essential, our partnership with Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs reflects our commitment to inclusivity and social responsibility. We have launched awareness campaigns, volunteering opportunities, and training programs aimed at supporting individuals with special needs. These initiatives are in line with the UAE’s emphasis on empowering people of determination and fostering a more inclusive society.

Another key aspect of our CSR realm is our cultural activities, such as the clothes donation drive and the visit to the Etihad Museum, which highlight our connection to the UAE’s heritage and our role in preserving its legacy.

As we reflect on the achievements of 2024, we are energized and motivated to continue our journey of community service and sustainability in 2025. We will further enhance our commitment to reducing energy, water, paper, and landfill waste, aligning with the UAE’s sustainability goals. Our focus on innovation and the integration of eco-friendly practices into our operational framework will continue to set a compelling example for others in the transportation industry.

In conclusion, I am proud to be part of a company that not only delivers efficient transportation services but also actively shapes a sustainable future and supports the social fabric of our nation. Our CSR activities have made a positive impact on the lives of those we serve, and we remain committed to giving back to the community, promoting inclusivity, and fostering a sustainable future for the UAE.
