Reports of increase in E-passport fee are baseless

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior dismissed the news regarding the increase in machine-readable passport fee on social media as baseless.

He said that there has been no increase in the fees of machine-readable passport, the federal government has approved the issuance of e-passport for Pakistani citizens.

He said that the e-passport facility has not been implemented at present, the Immigration and Passport Department had recently fixed the ordinary fee of e-passport. This fixed fee will be applicable only for the issuance of e-passport, other fees will remain as before.
