Lahore: The former captain of the national cricket team, Misbah-ul-Haq, expressed happiness over the restoration of departmental cricket and said that restoration is a big challenge.
Speaking to the media during the club match in Lahore, former head coach Misbah-ul-Haq said that the restoration of departmental cricket will create employment opportunities for the players while the burden on the PPC will also be reduced.
He said that the restoration of departmental cricket is a very good step for domestic cricket, it will give more opportunities to the players to come forward. After a break and closure of sports fields, it will be a challenge for the departments to build the whole system again, but I am sure that all the departments will struggle with it.
According to Misbah-ul-Haq, the impression that the departments used to take ready players is wrong, the fact is that the departments have produced many talented players. Sui Northern Gas alone produced countless cricketers including Azhar Ali, Umar Akmal, Yasir Shah. Umar Akmal first played first-class cricket, from here he polished up and reached the national team.
