Russia will supply fuel to Pakistan at discounted prices, Musadiq

Islamabad: Minister of State for Petroleum Musadiq Malik says that negotiations with Russia have been successful and Russia will supply crude oil to Pakistan at a discounted price.

Speaking to the media in a press conference, Musadiq Malik said that the talks with Russia were very positive, the visit to Russia was better than our expectations, agreements have been signed with Russia, Russia will supply us with crude oil at discounted rates, refinery products, petrol. And will get discount on diesel.

He said that Pakistan has to be self-sufficient in every sector. For additional economic development in the whole world, one to one and a half percent additional energy is needed. Energy has to increase by 8 to 10 percent.

The Minister of State for Petroleum said that talks have been held with Russian companies regarding the LNG sector. Russia has invited us to start contracts for 2025, 26. Talked to the sector, and some flexibility has been demanded regarding the pipeline.

Talking about the gas crisis, Musadiq Malik said that the gas coming out of our wells is decreasing by 8 to 10 percent every year. The demand for gas has increased compared to last year. However, the gas supply continues.

He said that the intergovernmental delegation will visit Pakistan in January, which will be headed by the Minister of Energy of Russia.
