DUBAI: In a city known for its restless energy and relentless pace, the Sakinah Art Exhibition offered a pause — an invitation to silence, reflection, and stillness. Curated by Jesno Jackson and presented by Art4you Gallery, the exhibition opened on January 23 at Mehromah Art Gallery and ran until August 29, immersing visitors in the deeply layered theme of “Sakinah” — the Arabic word for tranquillity and divine peace.

The exhibition brought together artists whose works explored serenity in its many forms. For some, it was found in nature’s quiet beauty: the light falling on water, the stillness of a desert, or the bloom of a solitary flower. For others, serenity was expressed in abstraction — brushstrokes capturing calm after chaos, or harmony emerging from dissonance.
Each artwork served as a contemplative pause, weaving a tapestry of interpretations that invited audiences to breathe, slow down, and reconnect with inner peace.

“In today’s world, where noise often overpowers meaning, Sakinah is an invitation to silence,” said curator Jesno Jackson. “Each artwork is a reminder that serenity is not just found, but created — and art has the power to be that sanctuary.”
Among the standout pieces was “Stillness in Bloom”, exploring inner calm through layered textures and tonal transitions, and “Echoes of Silence”, which combined abstraction and symbolism to reflect the soul’s meditative journey.
The gallery itself was curated as a “visual poem”, with soft lighting, thoughtful spacing, and an atmosphere where silence played as much of a role as the artworks themselves.

The opening ceremony of Sakinah Art Exhibition drew VIP guests, cultural figures, and art lovers, including H.E. Yaqoob Al Ali, Maktoum Al Marzooqi, Lara Tabet, Hanan Al Nuaimi, Ahmed Al Mahmood, Dr. Heike Lieb-Wilson, and Chanda Bhatia. Their presence, organisers said, reflected the spirit of community and a shared belief in art’s transformative ability.
Khaleej Times partnered as media supporter, helping amplify the exhibition’s message of peace and extending its reach beyond gallery walls.
As Dubai continues its rise as a hub of global art and culture, Sakinah stood out as a reminder that in a world driven by innovation and ambition, stillness and silence remain essential.
For many visitors, the exhibition was not just a display of artworks but an immersive space to slow down, find inspiration, and experience peace — proof that serenity, much like art itself, is timeless.
