Sara Inam murder case: Shahnawaz denies murdering wife, labels all evidence ‘baseless’

Shahnawaz Amir, the primary suspect in the murder case of Sara Inam, vehemently rejected all the evidence presented by the prosecution, dismissing them as ‘baseless.’ Amir’s defense unfolded during his appearance before the Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana on Wednesday.

Amir, while providing his account of the night in question, recounted that on that fateful evening, his mother had prepared dinner for the three of them. He described a seemingly ordinary evening where they shared a meal, engaged in casual conversation, and retired to sleep. In the middle of the night, Sara had abruptly left their company to use the bathroom, while Amir remained asleep. His narrative continued with him awakening at 7 a.m. the next morning and leaving for the F-8 Market to acquire breakfast.

Upon returning at 9 a.m., Shahnawaz Amir was confronted with a distressing discovery. Sara was nowhere to be found in the room, prompting him to initiate a search. Tragically, his search led him to find Sara’s lifeless body lying in the bathtub. It was at that moment he realized that Sara had passed away.

In response to Shahnawaz’s statement, the presiding judge inquired if he had any additional evidence to present in his defense. The accused, in a plea to the court, requested an extension of time until the next hearing to prepare and present further evidence.

Subsequently, the court granted his request and decided to postpone the proceedings until November 1st.
