RAWALPINDI: Security forces and law enforcement agencies killed 13 militants during two separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on November 20 and 21, the military’s media wing said.
According to ISPR, a joint operation was carried out in the general area of Paharkhel in Lakki Marwat district following reports of militant presence. During an exchange of fire, 10 militants were killed.
In a second intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district, security forces engaged another group of militants, killing three more during the encounter.
ISPR said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed militants, who, according to the statement, were involved in attacks against security personnel and civilians.
Sanitization operations are continuing in the areas to eliminate any remaining militants, the statement added.
The military said the ongoing counter-terrorism campaign under the national security framework will continue to maintain law and order and counter militant activity in the region.
