All-rounder unlikely to return before October, to miss Asia Cup in UAE

KARACHI: Pakistan all-rounder and vice-captain Shadab Khan has resumed gym training as part of his rehabilitation following shoulder surgery in England.

In a video shared on social media, the 25-year-old was seen performing various exercises, thanking fans for their prayers and support during recovery. Medical staff estimate a minimum three-month rehabilitation period, making his return before October improbable. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has yet to announce a replacement for the T20 vice-captaincy.

Pakistan will open their Asia Cup campaign against Oman on Sept 12, before facing arch-rivals India in Dubai on Sept 14. The tournament, which runs from Sept 9 to 28, will be played in the T20 format as preparation for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.
