Sharjah launches “Check in At Sharjah, Stay with Literature” campaign to promote reading and cultural identity

Initiative by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi aims to integrate literature into daily life and strengthen connection with Emirate’s heritage

Sharjah: Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Founder and Honorary President of the Emirates Publishers Association, inaugurated the “Check in At Sharjah, Stay with Literature” campaign, emphasizing reading as a vital and living thread in the cultural fabric of society.

The initiative aims to deepen the relationship between readers and Sharjah’s cultural identity, offering a curated range of creative products that reflect the Emirate’s history, spirit, and literary heritage. Designed to evoke the serenity of a quiet hotel stay, the campaign presents reading as a lifestyle experience that fosters belonging and tranquility for both residents and visitors.

“Reading is not merely an act of acquiring knowledge, but a living bridge that connects individuals to the memory of a place and its cultural spirit,” Sheikha Bodour said. She added that the campaign empowers people to feel part of Sharjah’s story, reinforcing love for knowledge while strengthening emotional and cultural ties to the city.

The campaign, implemented by Menassah Distribution Company, combines books, fashion, hospitality, board games, and stationery, creating an integrated lifestyle approach to reading. It also features products celebrating reading culture and prominent Sharjah landmarks, cultivating a lasting connection between readers and the Emirate’s heritage.

This initiative follows the success of last year’s “Read, You’re in Sharjah” campaign and forms part of Sharjah’s broader strategy to support Emirati writers, publishers, and promote the city as a cultural capital of the Arab world. Through these efforts, Sharjah seeks to embed literature into daily life while offering residents and visitors an immersive cultural experience.
