The moon of Shawwal ul Mukarram 1444 Hijri was not seen in any area of Pakistan, which was officially announced by the Chairman of Ruet Hilal Committee.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad presided over the meeting of Ruet Hilal Committee held in Islamabad while the meetings of zonal committees were held at designated places across the country.
Representatives of Ministry of Religious Affairs, Department of SPARCO, Department of Meteorology and Ministry of Science and Technology also participated in the meeting of central Ruet Hilal Committee.
The chairman of the Ruet Hilal Committee said that apart from the central committee, the meetings of the zonal committees were also held, during this period no evidence of moon sightings was received from any part of the country.
He said that it has been decided by consensus that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Pakistan on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
Astronomers had predicted that the Eid moon is unlikely to be visible this evening, so Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22, 2023 after completing 30 fasts.
