Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat has tested positive for COVID-19, as revealed by the politician on social media Thursday. Marwat, known for his outspoken political stance, shared his condition with party members and supporters, stating that he has been admitted to the hospital.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Sher Afzal Marwat disclosed the details of his diagnosis, writing: “After falling ill, initial tests revealed that I was infected with COVID-19. My [body] temperature is very high and my body is aching. I am admitted to the hospital and I request you all to pray for my speedy recovery.” He also mentioned that doctors have reassured him that the current strain of the COVID-19 virus is less deadly than previous waves.

Marwat’s announcement has sparked concern among his colleagues and supporters, who are offering their well-wishes for his recovery.
This comes just days after Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari raised concerns about his own health during a National Assembly session. Leghari, while addressing Deputy Speaker Ghulam Mustafa Shah, mentioned that he believed he had COVID-19 symptoms, prompting the deputy speaker to urge him to undergo testing.
