DUBAI: The Sindhi community came together in a spectacular display of unity and culture as the Sindh Friends Forum hosted a grand celebration of ‘Sindhi Cultural Day’ on Sunday.
Marking the annual occasion, which falls on the first Sunday of December, the event celebrated the rich heritage of Sindh through music, dance, and traditional festivities.
The celebration, attended by hundreds of Sindhi families from various regions, aimed to promote Sindhi culture and strengthen community ties in Dubai. The forum’s convener, Bashir Aresar, warmly welcomed the guests and emphasised the dedication required to bring such a vibrant event to life.
A Feast of Music and Performances
The evening began with a soulful Sindhi song, setting the tone for the cultural extravaganza. Renowned artists from Sindh and India, including Ustad Rajab Faqir, Zaman Ali, Munir Mehr, and young talent Lata Lalwani, enthralled the audience with their performances. Comedy legends Ali Gul Mallah and Gamo added a light-hearted touch with their hilarious skits, drawing waves of laughter.
Honoring Cultural Icons
Prominent Sindhi intellectual and social figure Ayaz Latif Palijo was the guest of honor. Recognised for his contributions to the Sindhi community, Palijo received a commemorative plaque from the
UAE National Day Tribute
In a gesture of solidarity with their host nation, the attendees celebrated the UAE National Day by cutting a cake. A special dance performance to the Sindhi anthem ‘Jeay Sindh Jeay’ added a festive flair to the evening.

The event was made possible by the dedicated efforts of organisers, including Padam Veer, Dr. Abdullah Kalhoro, Malik Soomro, Siraj Shaikh, and others. Distinguished attendees included Dr. Fahmida Hassan, Sikandar Ali Baloch, and Ehsan Laghari, among many notable figures.
